Ooooooooooo!!! If this isn’t adorable, I don’t know what is!! This kitty looks exactly like my beautiful Livvy when she was small (she has grown so much!). And Livvy would do dumb stuff like this, too, haha! This is just too cute, tooo cute!

Cat in the Garden
May 5, 2009
There’s no need for a piece of sculpture in a home (or garden) that has a cat.
I saw my cat, Fuzzy (who is completely recovered!), sitting in the cool garden bed today. Just thought I’d snap a few photos.
I assume he was aware of my presence, but he never turned around to see.
Is he hunting birds? A mouse? (He’s a terrible hunter, btw). Provoking our other cat, Milo? Or just taking a late afternoon siesta?
We like to think perhaps he is enjoying the flowers. He’s a quirky cat. He sometimes pads his way to a portion of our lawn dense with violets, and plunks down in the soft grass. As if intoxicated, he breathes in the flowery perfume with deep cat sniffs. He’s such a corker!
My Kitten Update
February 20, 2009
The other day, I realized I haven’t had a kitten update in quite some time. The horror! I’m so sorry to have kept you waiting like this!
After all, she is the cutest little kitty in the whole wide world! How can I neglect her adoring fans like I have!
Livvy is now 7 months old. She was spayed…. kind of. She had the operation, but… the vets found nothing inside. WEIRD. I’m still not sure if the problems is with Livvy’s innards or with the vet’s eptitude. Time will tell.
Anyway, Livvy is just like us, like one of the family. She “talks” to us, too. When we discuss things with her, she makes little meows and close-mouthed “pulses” of kitty sounds, as if she were responding. It’s absolutely adorable. I haven’t had a chance to try to capture it on video yet.
When we are cleaning the house, she is cleaning the house. (She especially likes sweeping the floor– when we are using the broom to gather all the dirt, she gladly comes charging in to scatter it all over the floor again!). And, she likes “helping out” with the laundry.
The Morning Funnies

This photo is just so funny I cannot stop laughing.

OMG!!!
In the comments at LOLcats, someone said this photo is from a book called “Walter Chandoha’s Book of Kittens and Cats.” Gotta get the book, lol!
I bought food and water dishes for Livvy, my darling kitten. They made me laugh. Isn’t it so true?!

Livvy isn’t acting like a princess (she’s more like a cross between a trampolinist and a Mac truck right now), but I’m sure she’ll eventually develop the customary queenliness of a cat.
Finding the Warm and Cozy Places
October 21, 2008
That would be us. It’s been FREEZING here in Upstate New York. It was 24 degrees at 7:30am Sunday morning. Brrr. The frost is crispy now. I grudgingly changed the furnace filter and turned on the furnace this weekend. UGH! That marks the final transition from summer to winter for me. I just dread turning on the blasted thing, it sends dollar bills right out the century-old, rickety windows, lol!
Even so, I only keep the house barely warm; the thermostat is stubbornly set at 60 until snow falls. All of us are huddling close together. This is our kitten’s first winter (her first everything, actually– she’s only 11 weeks old). She, like any good cat worth her weight in salt, is already scouting out the warmest places in the house. Namely, my lap as I sit at the computer, typing this.
I sit at a desk now (yay! See, my spine is so much better!) with a warm woolen poncho I use as a lap blanket. Our kitten, Olivia, is still too young to leap into my lap, but what she lacks in mature dexterity, she gains by temerity– her razor-sharp claws raking up my legs and into my lap. (See how calmly I type these words upon the keyboard; I actually get tears in my eyes when she does that, YOW). There, she cuddles into my lap, her head barely poking up from the front desk drawer. She is growing so quickly that I suspect next week she won’t fit here anymore. She squeezes up from my legs, under that drawer, with all her might. Her eyeballs look like they will pop out, but she is DETERMINED to get up here.
Here she is, just squirming through.
Made it! Ahhh.
Sleeping Beauty, waking up from her warm slumber (I shifted my position, that is).
Streeeeeeetch! Ready to take on the Friskies (again. Does this cat EVER stop eating?!).
It’s pretty obvious. I love this cat to bits. I hardly discipline her and I give her canned cat food at every heart-tugging little mew. UGH. See what old age does to you?
I Might As Well…
September 30, 2008
I’ve gushed about my new baby kitten on my other blogs, I may as well gush about her here, too!

I cannot believe how nuts I am over this kitten. I am spoiling her rotten. :S Already she drinks out of my tea, eats scraps from my dinner, and sleeps in the crook of my arm. I must be getting old or something. :S I never even treated my kids so well, lol.
We’re looking into teaching her how to be toilet-trained. I just HATE the smell of cat litter. I already have some Austin Air air purifiers (or something like it) running at night, because the slightest pungent smells wakes me up at night. I know next to nothing about toilet-training a cat (it was hard enough with kids). Anyone have any tips? Any of you accomplished cat owners out there have any advice? What age do I start her? She’s so tiny right now that I’n afraid she’d fall in and go down through the sewer system or something! Like this poor cat, lol.
You do realize that’s a parody. right?
ANYWAY, I’m not quite sure how to go about this…. will take much study.
Opinions?
