Can you Find the Kitty!

P.S. Yes, this is my messy office where all the amazing stuff happens. :-p Although, my desk is somewhat hidden in this photo. And I have rearranged furniture AGAIN.

One of our new favorite computers games is called “Hunstville.” It’s like I Spy, but it’s in shockwave format and I like playing it with the kids. My kitten loves to go poking into the cubbies of my huge teacher’s desk. So I thought I’d snap a photo of her. Can you find the kitty? (Ignore my messy desk!!)
P.S. Her antics are real cute until she starts rummaging through my desk, stepping into my coffee cup, and making a general mess of things. :S

My blogging friend, Lady Banana, recently posted of her kitty Mabel’s recent spaying (or is it neutering? I can never remember which is which). My kitty Olivia (Livvy) is about the same age as Mabel, and both Lady Banana got our kitties at about the same time. I like her updates, and reading about one of Livvy’s peers (all the way across the pond, even, where they make those cool english saddles).
Anyway, I realized that 1.) I really really NEED to get Livvy spayed/neutered/whatever very soon, before her hormones go ballistic on me, and 2.) that I have been so busy that I haven’t had a Livvy update in a while! Isn’t she adorable?!
We take photos of her constantly. She is such a spoiled kitty! But she has a good temperament and is very affectionate.
She just loves laundry baskets. She hops into empty ones. The kids pick them up and carry her around the house, and she doesn’t seem to mind.
She also likes to scoot behind my doorway drapes. Any unsuspecting passer-by usually gets a playful swipe.
She just loves wrestling with my son’s coonskin hat. She has this strange affinity for darker-colored coarsely-haired things. One of the boys has this small, furry little stuffed animal (another raccoon critter) and she carries it around like it’s a prized mouse.
I’m hoping she’ll be a good mouser.
She’s a great cat napper, at any rate!

My kitty Olivia has discovered……. ooo how I hate to admit it…. she’s discovered the delights of TOILET PAPER! Nooooooooooooo! One of my daughters walked in the bathroom to see this:
I did wonder when she’d get around to it. She’d been eyeing the toilet paper mechanism for about a week now. *SIGH* My other cats never did this (not that I recall anyway), but there’s something about Livvy that makes you think she’s going to be a handful. And she has now proved it. She’s only 3.5 months old!! Isn’t that too young to be ransacking the house?!
She already stalks the cockatiel, runs and jumps (with claws fully extended) onto an unsuspecting person’s back, and eats carpet fuzz.
But she’s so durn cute. Sheesh.

This cat is going to eat me out of house and home, I tell ya.
I’ve never given my other cats canned cat food. But Olivia is my *BAY-BEE* and she’s spoiled. Well, Olivia has discovered that Friskies isn’t as good as “people food”! My daughter made the mistake of not standing up to eat her meal– Livvy was right there to munch from her plate. This was, by the way, after Livvy had eaten her large breakfast of yummy canned Friskies and Kit n’ Kaboodles dry cat food. I had a front row, home theater seating show– I whisked out my camera and caught it all on tape! When she’s older I’m going to show her how young and foolish she was as a kid! (the cat, not the daughter).
*mew* I want some, too!
Please?? PWWWEEEASE?!
I’m a growing kitten! I need my nutrition. Bagels are loaded with nutrition!
Finally! nomnomnom
(two seconds later)
More? *bats eyes and mews pitifully*
Ahhhhhhh. Yum. *burp*

Our new kitten, Olivia, has more than doubled her size now! She was originally the runt of the litter, and you could hold her in one hand at 8 weeks. She is now quite the two or three handfuls, and her Siamese heritage is starting to show, too. She knows her name, but her most favorite word is “Friskies” (the canned cat food).
She’s also been very cat-like, shredding the nice fabric on one of my lovely wing chairs. I was mulling over buying her a cat scratching post at the store, but they didn’t look very durable and were expensive! So two of the children decided to set aside some time, rumble around in the garage for some materials, and build her a bona fide cat-scratching post! It is entirely made from scrap materials (plywood and some old carpeting remnants) and saved me $20!
In the photo, you can see the leg of the wing chair that I do NOT want her to rip up. It’s a very nice wing chair and has been damaged in the past by previous kitties. :S
It’s obvious she loves her new post! Those razor-sharp kitten claws are amazing.
Here’s a photo I took on “Pets” setting. Yes, she IS a blur these days! Keeps us busy…

She’s growing so fast! She’s losing her baby fuzz, getting razor-sharp teeth (chewing on everything), and developing the long and slender Siamese physique. She can also plop down and sleep anywhere.
Waking up.
She looks good in pink.

Kitten Update!
I know you have all been waiting with tuna-baited breath, dear friends!
We’ve had her for two weeks, and she has grown so much. I feel like a dottering old mother, I dote on this critter so much. I just love the kitten stage and it is with bittersweet regret that I watch it pass. She looks so mature in this photo.
She’s a real people cat. She just hates to be alone. I had to gate her out of part of the house a few days ago, and she pleaded so pitifully on the other side. Aww, my heart almost broke.
She is losing her baby fuzz and starting to show spots of her new coat. She is looking more like a Siberian tiger than the half-Siamese that she is. See her brown and white stripes? You can also see her giant paws. She has 6 toes per paw. They make her a little clumsy.
GOTCHA! Stunned by the flash.
She has two white stripes on her back. She looks a little bit like a chipmunk. She also has a slight kink at the end of her tail. You can make it out a little in the photo. I don’t know why it’s like that– must be genetic.
And for your information, it took me FOREVER to get that camera shot. Wow. I don’t know how you cat bloggers take such great photos. Everything is a blur with this baby. We just love her to bits.
