Hey I have a box of old toys too, mostly from McDonald's because, well, they put out the best toys. I have 2, yep 2, complete 101 Dalmations train sets that they gave away way back when. I also have a ton of stuffed items and toys still sealed in plastic. Some of them from cereal boxes when they used to put them in boxes. Most kids be asking what'cho talkin' bout toys in the cereal boxes. I also have 2 complete sets of Disney glasses from McD's too that I use on a daily basis.

Lin-- when we finally got the owl out, it was dead. :( Broke my heart. It had flown into the chimney alive; I'd heard banging around in there that day. I thought the chimney had been capped, but I guess not *ANOTHER* thing to do around here.

Marg- right you are, old homes were built better. It's just age that has them sagging. I'll cover more of this in the next post.

I am sure there are lots of things wrong with an old house but they sure were better built than they are nowadays. Take care.

Was the owl alive or dead?

We have a house built in the 60's and our problem is finding parts for things around here without re-building everything.

Marg-- good advice. At the time, however, we were a young couple with 4 kids and couldn't afford any new home, manufactured or otherwise. We saved probably $130,000 by buying this heap o' junk. Even after spending $40,000 fixing it up, our home equity is still considerably larger. So it works out. :)

Lin-- lol. I don't think there's mold on the glass, just the windowsill (and Livvy doesn't lick that). Still, the windows in this house are deplorable. I can't wait to hack them out and replace them.

Blueyes- LOLOL! I suggest to everyone a half-Siamese. I think they are the best. A pure bred is a pain, but a half is wonderful.
