Livvy and Her Teddy

It’s been raining buckets lately so we’ve been unable to continue our work on the gardens. We HAVE been hacking away at the weeds, though! The progress is very good, but I can’t get photos because… it’s raining. The yard is looking like Brazil, my son says. All this rain inspires the plants to grow amazingly large and full. Let’s hope we can stave off the Amazon River this year… I’m praying no more of those Hundred Year Floods. We’ve had our quota for the next 800 years, I’d say.

Because I am photo-less, I’ll treat you to a cute little video of Livvy and her Teddy. Whenever Livvy is feeling grouchy and wants to attack our feet, we stick Teddy under her nose. She can take out her frustrations on him. And she does.

My yews are, um, a BIT overgrown. My excuse is that it’s been raining cats and dogs and we haven’t had a chance to clip them. but the real reason is that I’m TERRIBLE at pruning shrubs. I leave the job to the husband, but lately he’s been working 6 to 7 days a week. The extra dough is so very nice, but the yard is a disaster, lol.

Livvy and Good Ol’ Snuff

Since I’m not renovating anything yet, I’m content to fill the blog with Livvy escapades. I hope you don’t mind. I really don’t want this blog to become a “cat blog” (as cool as those are) because I think they require tremendous amount of effort and energy. Which I do not have, currently.

We’ve been taking videos of Livvy’s antics FOREVER and I finally took some time to edit a few of them for viewer consumption. We’ve got some doozies, I’ll tell you that. lol.

Here’s one. We got her one of those cardboard scratching post things. She’s shredded her sisal-rope post TWICE and we are sick of replacing the rope. The husband got her a cute little cardboard ramp WITH a butterfly toy and WITH catnip. Livvy has only had catnip once before, so this proved to be an interesting little show. She’s her own walking commercial for how to read more about apidextra.

What is it about pets that makes us inflict them and then watch them with amusement? lol

Well, I know you’ve been waiting with BAITED BREATH our review of a cool cat video we picked up recently. It was vigorously advertised, claiming to entertain your cat for hours! Gee, you could almost leave your home for a week’s vacation and the cat would be riveted to the TV screen, right?!

We decided to get Livvy, our Tabby-Point Siamese cat, to give her personal opinion of the video. I won’t bore you with a text transcription of her review results, I’ll just post the video here. Enjoy!

Find the Kitty Friday: Kitty Count Bass-y

She’s been feeling very musical these days. Isn’t she adorable?!

Everyone has, as a matter of fact. Hence the bass in the middle of my dining room. :S

The husband bought a new drum machine or some such Toca Percussion gadget a little while ago. He promptly stuffed it in his “musical supply” box under the couch (remember, we have no storage space here!) for a more convenient time.

Last week was the convenient time. The husband and my two boys unpacked every box of musical gadgetry and spread it all out in the dining room. Don’t ask me how they got it all cabled together! It was quite the accomplishment. They all gugged for a while, the hubs on lead, son #1 on rhythm and son #2 on bass. Sounded great. Would have sounded even better somewhere besides the dining room, though.

I have GOT to build them a music room. Either that or place a table for eating in the living room!

She’s a Maniac

I really dread taking Livvy outside. She’s an absolute maniac. But she begs and whines and BEGS and WHINES. Finally, I succumb. Why oh why do I acquiesce every single time?!

Maybe it’s because she does this.

Boy, she is cute when she does that! She’s like a little kid– adorable. zany. CRAZY.
