Hurricane Irene Eve

weather woes

Our sunset tonight. Nice pretty colors but she is TOTALLY unwelcome.

Hurricane Irene Eve

This week alone, Upstate New York has had a tornado, an earthquake and a hurricane. ONE WEEK. Insane!

The weather guys are forecasting upwards of 5 inches for my area. Please keep us in your prayers. Five inches means bad flash flooding. Irene needs to move out to sea.

A tornado??? I didn’t hear about this! When did it happen?

I know this is crazy weather; I don’t ever remember a hurricane hitting us in CNY.

I hope we don’t get a lot of rain, my basement gets wet and it stinks when it does.

Got a question for you, since you are a home expert (well in my book). What is the best way to dry out my basement and also get the musty smell out from the dampness? It doesn’t flood but it gets wet.

Rena– my first response would be a dehumidifier. They can be expensive to run, I hear, but they will take care of the problem. You can even rig it up to drain into your sump well (if you have one) so you don’t have to change the tank every day.
