Find the Kitty Friday 2/05

Livvy has been bored as a chestnut lately. I’m too busy to take her outside, and it seems the only thing she likes to do is watch the birds at the feeder (when they come near). Thank you for your cat-blogging advice on some toys for Livvy! Great advice, people! I LOVE Marg’s idea of taping empty toilet rolls into a pyramid and placing treats inside… but I haven’t enough toilet rolls yet. However, we have six people in the house and I’m sure we’ll get to that soon… Duni suggested a leather string because cats love leather… I will try that when I can get some leather. I’m sure Livvy would love that, she does like strings.
Lin and Sparkle suggested a big box with holes. Seeing that we ALWAYS have boxes scattered around here (I save them, you just never know when you’re going to need one!), that’s what we tried this week.
She loved it!!
for about three hours…
now, she’s back to staring at the birds. Here’s hoping we never run out of birds!
Anyway, I snapped a photo of her, hiding in the box. Can you find the kitty? Can you see her laser eye?
Thanks for playing.
Here’s hoping we can keep her occupied before she drives us all nuts, lol.

OF COURSE I can see her eye! She’s staring right at me! Isn’t she? I think this is one of those trick portraits where the eyes follow you around the room, wherever you go.
Sorry I missed last week, but now that I’m done with the packing and moving stuff, hopefully I’ll be more regular.
As for toys? A favorite of my last cat Lizzie has been adopted by the new trio: We get our milk in those plastic gallon jugs. When you first open it, you have that little plastic ring to pull off. See if Livvy doesn’t like it. Mine carry them all over the house like special treasures.

I got to watch a really special bird flap around the enclosed patio today – a hawk was stuck there! I had no idea they were that dumb. It took a towel, and some human power, to direct him to the exit.
Try putting some catnip in the box – or maybe throw one of those plastic milk rings into it. Might get her attention again. Works for me.

Yeah, what Sparkle said. You’ve got to add some toys to the mix with that box. Cut a little bigger hole in the side so she can jump in and out of it that way. My kitties like those sparkle balls (they are sparkly pom poms that you buy at the craft store) –my cats LOVE them. Send me your address and I’ll mail you some if you want. I sent some to Chuck (Secondary Roads) and Pricilla–and both of their kitties loved them too. My email is in my profile.
