We have about a dozen clusters. So far, the deer and the birds have left this alone this growing season, but I’m still very wary. I have to get some mosquito netting to throw over the vine.
My grapes have shriveled up before they ripen for 4 years now. I think it is what they call ‘black spot’. I just don’t have the time to spray them every week so I’ll be digging them out at the end of this growing season and looking for a more disease resistant variety.
:) I’m a married mom of four teenage children. We live in Upstate New York. We bought an old 1855 home and acre property, over 10 years ago. We've been in the slow, agonizing process of living in the home while (trying) to renovate it. When I'm not renovating, I'm a freelance writer and blogger.
We've learned to dig a French drain, plant huge flower and vegetable gardens, wire a circuit panel, install furnace ducting, understand the enigmatic complexities of the plumbing system, and more. It's been *quite* the adventure.

Good Luck with your grapes. One of these days I want to try growing them here.

Curious minds want to know: are these grapes for eating, or stomping into wine? If the latter, be sure to take pictures!

I love the grapes. We planted them at our house. Have to drive by and see how the new people are doing with them.

Stacies– thanks! I am praying the deer and birds ignore them.
akaGaGa– we do plan on EATING the grapes. Stomping them is reserved for wrath, only. lol.
I’ll take photos, whatever we do.
Grampy– I am hooked, I tell you! I am going to be planting more, loooads more!
