Vanilla Nice

Design and Decor

Yow, I forgot how stinky a house can get with an indoor cat. Livvy is really sweet, but… you know it is with cats. The “normal” smells of wet basement, 70s faux wood paneling, plaster and lathe are bad enough.. combine it with the cat and it’s a toxic waste site here at the Mecomber household, lol.

So I’m continuing my experiment with finding the *perfect* air freshener/air deodorizer. I really like the way the Pet Odors Febreze deodorized the air, but I tired of the perfumy frangrance after a while. I’ve tried some nice spice candles, but Livvy got a little too close to one and singed her eyebrow whiskers!! So I’m sticking to the harmless fresheners.

I recently got the Febreze “Vanilla & Refresh” spray, 9.7 ounces. Costs $3.79 at Walgreens. I love the smell of vanilla; and I just love having the smell of foods or cooking in the house before guests visit. I try to have bread baking or coffee perking before having people over, so that the intoxicating scents hit their sinuses when they walk in the door. This way, visitors are more inclined to notice the nice smells and are not knocked-out cold when they see the disastrous mess of wiring and plaster all over the place… lol. Soooo… I sprayed the Vanilla & Refresh spray.

Oh my gosh, people! Warning!! DO NOT USE THIS SPRAY IF YOU ARE HUNGRY!! It is the smell of baking vanilla sugar cookies!! Immediately, I started salivating and craving desserts. Hoh boy, if this won’t drive the guests nuts, I don’t know what will! Hehehe!

Seriously, it’s niiiiice. It smells like cookies, or Breyer’s vanilla bean ice cream– that warm, cozy scent that brings to mind chestnuts roasting on an open fire, or a heart-warming Norman Rockwell painting. It’s addicting. I think it’s perfect for winter days, when you’re stuck in the house and wanting comfort food and comforting smells. I like it! So thumbs up to Febreze on their new Vanilla & Refresh! Tip– this scent is available for a limited time only, so if you’re interested, it would be wise not to wait.

P.S. This is not a paid post!

    Hi There!
Wow, Vanilla in Febreze?? Cool! I’ve been using Air Wick in a deodorizer spray because it has the Vanilla. But I’ll start using Febreze now. I know Febeze is some good stuff because I used to use it back when I kept indoor dogs and it worked best for pet smells. Vanilla is pretty much the only smell I do like in deodorizers, candles, etc…

Hope all is going well, with you! :)

Yeah, I am very sensitive to smells, VERY. I love the vanilla smell. I also like cinnamon– you know, all the stuff that smells like FOOD! lol! Anyway, you might like this if you love the smell of fresh cookies in the house. Might drive your dogs nuts, though! Thanks for your comment.

I personally like the apple one. I love vanilla candles, but people complained that they got a headache from vanilla…can you imagine?
