Weird. It’s WEIRD, people. Lake effect is that weird weather pattern that swoops down from the Great Lakes (Erie and Ontario) onto the unsuspecting citizens of Upstate New York.
About 15 minutes after I posted this post with this photo– showing ZERO visibility during heavy snow squalls with vicious winds…

:) I’m a married mom of four teenage children. We live in Upstate New York. We bought an old 1855 home and acre property, over 10 years ago. We've been in the slow, agonizing process of living in the home while (trying) to renovate it. When I'm not renovating, I'm a freelance writer and blogger.
We've learned to dig a French drain, plant huge flower and vegetable gardens, wire a circuit panel, install furnace ducting, understand the enigmatic complexities of the plumbing system, and more. It's been *quite* the adventure.

That almost makes me homesick for NY. I lived off Memorial parkway in Utica for a few years back in the late 80′s,a good old fashioned snow storm would be nice once in a while, like Christmas. Have a nice Christmas.Sparky

My husband is from Utica and my mother is from Syracuse. Pennsylvania feels like the tropics to me!
