I don’t know what it is. I have this thing for vinegar lately. I’ve experimented with it in the laundry (makes clothes soft and removes odors), boiling potatoes with it, and cleaning car windshields with it. Last week I dumped a little in my soapy dishwater (about 1/2 cup; I wash dishes by hand). It really works to cut grease! It also removes baked-on gunk much easier. Try it and see!
:) I’m a married mom of four teenage children. We live in Upstate New York. We bought an old 1855 home and acre property, over 10 years ago. We've been in the slow, agonizing process of living in the home while (trying) to renovate it. When I'm not renovating, I'm a freelance writer and blogger.
We've learned to dig a French drain, plant huge flower and vegetable gardens, wire a circuit panel, install furnace ducting, understand the enigmatic complexities of the plumbing system, and more. It's been *quite* the adventure.

I usually put vinegar when washing whites, but i haven’t washed other colored clothes with vinegar. Maybe next time i will try that including dishwashing. thanks for the tip!
