This is the latest Growing Challenge update! It seems my little sprouts have come up quickly. When did I put these seeds in? A week ago?!
I had a paper with the names of the seeds in a diagram, so I could tell what the plants were when they grew. I have lost the paper. I an notorious for losing papers, and it drives me crazy!! We are still looking for my notebook wherein I wrote all my electrical notes and diagrams last summer. I cannot find it…. *sigh* The kids have this little saying, that when I put something it a “safe place” we can all count on it being lost forever. The house just seems to gobble up all my paperwork. :S
Another screwy thing I’ve noticed is that the roots are breaking through the bottom of the peat pellets. Hmm, strange! I wish I had my paper so I could remember what plant this is!
I’m guessing…. watermelon?

I used a very similar method for planting seeds and was shocked at how fast they grew. Now I have to figure out when they’re big enough to replant outdoors. (and get something to protect them from all the rabbits)

Seedlings! Spring has sprung, and I need to get my greenhouse fixed so I can have seedlings too. That was one (small) perk about living in the suburbs instead of out here in the boonies: no deer to eat our gardening efforts!

Oh my, rabbits, deer… don’t get me going! lol. They eat EVERYTHING around here. I’ve had to concoct the most creative ways to ward them off. I’ll have to write a deer repellent post, haha!
